LEDC
The
LANSING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION is an advisory, 
appointed board of the Village of Lansing's Village Board.

LEDC role includes:
  • advisory function on economic development issues
  • sounding board for issues affecting the development of Lansing
  • ambassadorship of information on economic development
  • marketing of the village
  • oversees the Village Vision

Responsibilities of a LEDC commission member
  • attendance at meetings
  • providing expertise in discussions on issues of economic development
  • providing expertise in discussions on general village issues
  • serving as a village representative to the local business community 


P&ZBA
The PLANNING and ZONING BOARD of APPEALS 

P&ZBA role includes: 

Powers & Duties

  1. To hear and make recommendations to the Building Committee of the Village Board of Trustees on applications for variations
  2. To hear and make final decisions on appeals of administrative decisions made by the Building Commissioner, Planning and Development Director, and other authorized Village officials.
  3. To hear and make recommendations to the Village Board on applications for special uses and Ordinance text and map amendments.
  4. To hear and make recommendations to the Village Board on applications for planned development.
  5. To render zoning interpretations.
  6. To assist in the development, review and amendment of the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance of the Village, as required by the Village Board.
