NOTICE To All Residents of Lansing and Contractors 5/31/2006

Effective Monday June 5, 2006 the building department will have a new policy regarding inspections.
The following is a list of required inspections and when they will be performed.

Please call by 3:00PM the day PRIOR to your inspection and it will be done between 7:00AM and 11:00AM



Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Footing / Foundation    

Backfill / Drain Tile
Concrete Pre Pour     Post Hole Pre Pour
Slab     Insulation / Fire Stopping     Electrical  (service, rough, or final)     Plumbing (underground, rough, or final)
Rough Framing     Building Final     HVAC     .
Three copies of spot survey after foundation is poured,
(prior to decking) are required.     .

NOTICE To All Residents of Lansing and Contractors 5/31/2006
Effective June 5, 2006 construction fences will be required on all new construction projects and demolition projects. International Building Code section 3306.9 states that a barrier shall be erected when required by the building official. The Village of Lansing will now require a six foot high cyclone fence. NOTICE To All Residents of Lansing and Contractors 5/31/2006
Effective June 5, 2006 the following items will require construction documents and blue prints:

1. Residential Additions
2. Residential New Construction
3. ALL Commercial Projects
4. Decks & Porches
5. Wheel Chair Lifts and Ramps
6. Any other project deemed necessary by the Commissioner
  Most Residential Projects will be reviewed by our in house staff. Commercial Projects are sent out to the review firm of Kelly Reynolds & Associates, Inc. if so deemed by the commissioner.
There will be a separate additional fee for plans to be reviewed by Kelly Reynolds & Associates, and with the applicants signature, they will be responsible to pay this fee even if they do not proceed with the project.
