Lansing continues to provide emergency medical service through a unique blend of highly trained personnel:

24 full-time and paid-on-call firefighter/paramedics
23 full-time and paid-on-call firefighter/EMTS

Lansing EMS provides initial response and patient transport 24 hours a day,7 days a week,
365 days a year.
This is accomplished by utilizing a combination of on and off duty full-time and paid-on-call fire/EMS personnel, in conjunction with Police/EMS personnel, as outlined below.

One Lansing firefighter graduated and became licensed as a paramedic.
Six Lansing firefighters graduated and became licensed as EMT-BE

As of April 30 2003, additional staffing and increased EMS training office department personnel, allowed for the dis-continuation of the supplemental paramedic program.

Highlights:

PARAMEDIC FUND

The paramedic fund, which since the inception of the paramedic program, is the vehicle that allows donated funds to be used to upgrade our program with no impact on taxes.
The Community’s appreciation of the care given by our personnel, is reflected by continued donations to this fund.

The second replacement ambulance was obtained through the utilization of these funds.

The condition of all equipment, is constantly monitored.
This fund will continue to be utilized to replace equipment when the need arises.

The generosity of the people who donate, allows our EMS personnel to be provided with the most efficient patient care equipment, with no financial impact on the tax structure.
