Mayor Norm Abbott
Mr. Abbott served in the Army from 1960 to 1962 and is a parishioner of St. Ann’s Catholic Church where he has been a Sunday morning usher for over 20 years.
Prior to being elected mayor in April of 2009, Mr. Abbott served on the Lansing Planning and Zoning Board for 13 years. In addition he has also served as a Village Trustee from 1997 to 2002 as chairperson for public works. Mr. Abbott was elected again in 2007, to serve as Trustee and chairperson for the police and fire departments.
Past experiences have also included director on the Buford Walker Senior Housing Board and an active member of the Lansing Lions Club for over 37 years, having served twice as President.

Chairwoman Finance and Insurance Trustee Julie Butler has resided in Lansing for the past ten years with her husband Scott, a Lansing Police Officer, and their daughter Chloe. In November, 2008 Julie purchased CJ Frank & Son – now a full service CPA Firm and License Remitter Agent for the State of Illinois.Trustee Butler is a certified public accountant with licenses in Illinois and Indiana and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting from Indiana University. Her areas of expertise include financial accounting, auditing, individual & business taxes, payroll & payroll taxes, and financial statement preparation. Julie is a member of the AICPA, Illinois CPA Society, Indiana CPA Society, Lansing Chamber of Commerce and Lansing Business Women’s Association.

Chairman Public Works Trustee Kapteyn was born and raised in Lansing, and with his wife of 29 years Cheryl, has four married children; Eric, Kelly, Michelle, and Jaci, and one grandson John.Trustee Kapteyn attended Lansing Christian School and Illiana Christian High School.Mr. Kapteyn began working for his family owned business, Park Service Station in 1972 and has been the co-owner since 1990. Park Service Station celebrated 50 years in business in 2009. Trustee Kapteyn attends Emmanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sauk Village, IL and has served as Deacon, Elder, Cadet Counselor and on other committees.He performs in the Praise Band and runs the A/V equipment for the group. Mr. Kapteyn has served on the Lansing Christian School Board for six years.

Chairman Ordinance & Youth Center/LNN Trustee Mike Skrbina has been a resident of Lansing since 1963. Mr. Srkbina attended Sunnybrook School, Thornton Fractional South High School, South Suburban College and Western Illinois University. Trustee Skrbina is a commercial tire salesman and is employed with Wentworth Tire Service. Mike has been married to Denise for 18 years and has 6 sons and 2 daughter-in-laws. Mr. Skrbina is a member of First Reformed Church of Lansing, presently serving as deacon and cadet counselor. Mr. Skrbina was president of the Lansing Jaycees and Lansing Little League, and is currently serving as a coach. Mike and his wife, Denise, started the Lansing Challenger Division, a baseball program for special needs children in 1992.

Chairman Public WorksTrustee Daniel Lyzenga and his wife Julie are both lifelong Lansing residents and have eight children and one daughter-in-law. Mr. Lyzenga attended Lansing Christian School and Illiana Christian High School, and has served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Cadet Counselor. A self employed carpenter/contractor, Trustee Lyzenga attends Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Lansing and has served on the Lansing Christian School Board where his children attend. Dan has coached Lansing Little League baseball, and is the son of Marv Lyzenga who served the village as a trustee in the 1990s.

Chairman Public Saftey and Welfare
Trustee Delaurentis was born and raised in Lansing and will be married to his wife, Toni, 40 years this year (2011). Mr. DeLaurentis attended Lansing public schools and after graduating from T.F. South, he served in the U.S. Army for two years. He then went to work for Nalco Chemical Company and retired with 30 years of service.
Mr. DeLaurentis was first elected to the position of trustee in 2001 and served on the Lansing Village Board for eight years. He was again elected in 2011. He is very active in Lansing activities and is currently the Lansing Historical Society President.

. Chairman Aviation and Economic Development
Trustee Mikal Stole was sworn in as Village Trustee on May 2, 2009 and was appointed chairperson of the Aviation and Insurance committees by Mayor Norm Abbott.
Mikal is a Lansing resident and a product of the public school system having attended Oak Glen, Memorial Junior High, and T.F. South High School. In 2002 Mikal earned his Liberal Arts and Sciences Degree in English from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Later he earned his Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School located in Chicago in 2005 and was admitted to the Illinois bar the same year.
Mikal is employed as an attorney with the law office of Reich, Orloff & Jumbeck, L.L.P. and is active in numerous bar associations. Through the years Mikal has been involved in several community related organizations including the Lansing Old Timers, Boy Scouts Pack 414, and the Special Olympics. He is currently a member of Illinois State Representative Anthony DeLuca's Economic Development Advisory Committee.
Mikal is the proud father of Ava Stole who is six years old. His family’s Lansing origins began in 1951 when his grandparents Hans and Borghild Stole, immigrants of Norway, settled in Lansing.
